The Research Institute for Inner Asian Studies (est. 1967), named after the late distinguished scholar Denis Sinor, is the foremost research institute of its kind in North America. The Institute supports scholarly research in all aspects of Inner Asian studies; maintains a library of 12,000 volumes, including rare and unique holdings; publishes peer-reviewed books and journals in collaboration with Indiana University Press; organizes and sponsors international workshops and conferences; sustains digital research projects and pedagogical tools, and supports visiting scholars seeking to use the Institute’s resources.
